It sickens me to read some of these comments. Especially those that glorify and romance this horrific example of suppression and fear. This video evidence documents society's subjugation of millions of men brainwashed into believing their natural desires branded them as sexual deviants. Look what these men were reduced to, while others who fell into the "cookie-cutter" mold of society's expectation of sexual roles received the gift of approval and the freedom to love the person of their choice openly. My heart breaks for these men.

There was a park by the ymca that we would go to. Parents told us to stay away from it and never use the bathroom. We saw more than we could understand. Innocently, we went there a lot. Saw first BJ & hairy cock not sure if I was excited or embarrassed. I wanted to leave, but wanted to stay.

ถึง thecap1 : This footage was captured over 3 weeks in Mansfield, Ohio, during the summer of 1962. Many of the men we can see here were found guilty (some of their mugshots can be found elsewhere, online). The footage was taken by William Spognardi, a lieut in the Mansfield p*lice dept, along with his assistant, lieut Richard Burton. They filmed their subjects through a one-way mirror installed in an underground public convenience. Mansfield p*lice didn't need much prompting to do this after a convicted murd*r*r, Jerrell Ray Howell, taunted the authorities to, "take a look at the men’s room in Central Park on the square, that’s where I first had oral sex with a man." (John P. Butler & Peter Mars, 'The Best Suit in Town: A Generation of Cops', Royal Palm Press, 2001).
Although the original surveillance footage was captured covertly in a subterranean restroom (located in Mansfield’s main civic square), even MORE INCREDIBLY, the actual footage was later transposed into a contemporary art gallery setting and shown publicly, as MODERN ART !!! I can only assume this was done without the permission of the men captured on camera, but can't be certain. This was by the artist, William E Jones in 2008. So many troubling ethical questions around this, but I hope the footage stays here, so that we don't forget and never let those days return, ever.
